I t is not i n agreement w i t h the rea l phenomena. Th is problem is considered because a tu rbu lence model us ing the ground surface s t ruc tu re averaged t h r o u g h a mesh can not express the ver t i ca l m i x t u r e of the a i r due to the unevenness of g round surface tempera tu re , whose scale is smal le r t h a n the mesh size. Th is s tudy aims a t proposing a method of comput ing ver t i ca l d i f fus ion coeff ic ient consider ing th i s effect. I n th i s paper, th is ver t i ca l m i x i ng phenomena was reproduced by a water t ank exper iment , and the mass t ranspor t observed by a v i sua l i za t ion technique was compared w i t h the ca lcu la t ion resu l t by CFD.
