For high temperature measurement of object's surface, TEOS/TBA sol-gel coatings with Y2O3 : Eu thermographic phosphor were manufactured. These surface coatings were required to have temperature sensitivity by phosphoresce, adhesion strength without a thermal crack, thinness, and surface smoothness for applications to aerothermodynamic tasting. The 3 sample coating plates with 3 different densities of phosphor were examined. The properties of these samples were investigated by heating up to 1000 Celsius. No change such a thermal crack was seen in surface micrographs after heating. The coatings were adherent enough against Scotch-tape tests before and after heating. Surface temperature measurement from 400 to 800 Celsius is feasible and principle phosphorescence of 611nm was affected by near infrared radiation from the background over 850 Celsius.
