The purpose of this article is to present the application of Makigami, a process mapping, to assess the flow of information and reduce Lead Time and to release the maintenance of tools in the industrial sector. For the development, the following research techniques were used: An in-depth and exhaustive case study on the object of study and bibliographic research, based on materials extracted from electronic media. The results obtained showed consistent solutions to establish the desired methodology. In view of this, it was possible to observe that Makigami made it possible to analyze the current situation, making waste visible, thereby making it possible to reduce the lead time of the flow for releasing tools for maintenance.
