Motivation helps to determine goals; volition supports management and execution ofgoals. The present research titled: motivation and improving learning speaking amonghigh school students in language institutions, investigated the role of motivation onlanguage skills and also it investigated the differences of males and females inmotivation. The research instrument in the present study is standard questionnaire byHermes and data were analyzed by SPSS software. The findings of the present researchindicated that there is a meaningful relationship between motivation and speakingperformance, also the motivation among males and females is different.
