Received 25.04.2018; accepted 02.06.2018; printed 30.06.2018; published online 05.07.2018 As a part of the research program about echinoderms of the Gulf of Oman, Luidia maculata Müller et Troschel, 1842, and L. hardwicki Gray, 1840 (Asteroidea Luidiidae) were collected from the sandy shores of Chabahar Bay along the north part of the gulf during the period from 2015 to 2016. Here, L. maculata is recorded for the first time from the Gulf of Oman and Iranian waters. Luidia hardwicki has been previously reported from this area. Details concerning the identification and distribution range of these species are provided.
