The reaction process for the formation of La 1– x  Sr  x  CoO 3– δ  ( x  = 0.3) from La 2 O 3 , Co 3 O 4 , and SrCO 3  powder mixtures was investigated using high-temperature X-ray diffraction (HTXRD) between 298 K and 1273 K. The results indicate that an intermediate product SrCoO  y   appears around 1213 K.
