Ganzheitliche Produktionssysteme (GPS) sind derzeit in vielen Unternehmen eingeführt und die Prozesse nach den Prinzipien eines GPS gestaltet. Im Zuge der Digitalisierung der Produktion werden in den kommenden Jahren moderne Informations- und Kommunikationssysteme in die Produktion und somit in Ganzheitliche Produktionssysteme implementiert. Im Zuge dessen wird in diesem Artikel die Wechselwirkung zwischen GPS und der Industrie 4.0 durch eine Use-Case-Analyse dargelegt und eine entsprechende Industrie - 4.0-Struktur entwickelt.
