最も単純なオリゴ糖である二糖類に着目し,構造および糖分子と水との相互作用が赤外分光特性に及ぼす影響について,溶媒効果に着目した解析を行った結果,以下の基礎的知見を得た.(1) D-グルコース2分子が結合した二糖類では,吸収ピークはグルコースとほぼ同じ波数に存在した.また,トレハロースは他の二糖類と比較して特異的なスペクトルパターンを有することが示された.(2) 同一濃度のH2O溶液中およびD2O溶液中の二糖類スペクトルにおいて,官能基の吸収はほぼ同じ波数に存在し,溶媒効果はピーク強度の違いに認あられた.(3) 同型のグリコシド結合を有するトレハロースとスクロースにおいて,トレハロースは溶媒種の違いや濃度変化の影響を受けにくい糖であることが示された.(4) 溶媒効果に対する官能基の挙動に着目することで,水溶液中におけるオリゴ糖について,糖の構造が赤外分光特性に及ぼす影響を把握可能であることが示唆された.
