CES structural system comprising fiber reinforced concrete and encased steels is a new composite structural system. Continuous and comprehensive studies are conducted to make it practical. In this study, the effects of the steel shape on the flexural behaviors of CES members were experimentally studied. The selected test parameters were sectional shapes of the built-in steels. This paper discusses the manner in which the structural performance of CES members should be evaluated. It is revealed based on the test results that the AIJ design formulas for SRC structures can be applied for evaluating the ultimate flexural behaviors of CES members.
