We derive long-period velocity pulse and permanent displacement from strong motion records of the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake. The average pulse period of fling-parallel components observed at eight stations with distance <15 km is 3.1 s. It becomes longer when the distance is longer than 15 km. The observed period is consistent to one of prediction equations, but those were modeled by only Mw. The periods of fling-parallel and vertical components are almost the same. The observed static displacement of fling-parallel components agrees with a previous equation in case that average slip displacement is predicted using the fault area and Mw.
