This is a study on spilling-outs area in common passages based on a survey of Seoul Ganagnam Housing A3 block. We draw a “spilling-outs area map” in common passages, and check what kind of building conditions have effects on existence of spilling outs area. Through these analyses we found a possibility that not alcove but balcony, especially south-facing balcony, in a common passage can be a key to make a common passage as attractive as traditional streets.
