In this study, we investigated the construction history, subsequent refurbishment, and utilization of oceanic architectures in Japan, and clarified the establishment cause, location, and facility use of oceanic architectures. Our results are shown by the following three points. 1. The establishment of an oceanic architecture is influenced by its functional application and location characteristics. 2. Facility usage trends were confirmed as examples where constant use is continuing, examples that store after the closure of the facility, examples where partial change was made, and examples where large-scale refurbishment was attempted. 3. Regarding the use of marine areas, examples that use customary maritime areas, examples that use continuous maritime areas, and examples that use new maritime areas were confirmed.
