Yostar, E.J.; Capellari, A.; Haynes, A.: Relationship between height and age (frame score) in Brahman calves from Northeastern Argentina. Rev. vet. 22: 1, 55–59, 2011. Frame score is the numerical relationship between height and age of cattle, which can be calculated following the guidelines of the Beef Improvement Federation. This study aimed to determine the frame score of Brahman and Red Brahman calves from a herd located in Santo Tomé (Corrientes, Argentina). The experimental group included 103 calves, selected at the time of weaning. Hip height and weaning, and birth weights were registered, determining subsequent daily weight gain, weight adjusted to 210 days and frame score, information that was recorded on spreadsheets for review and analysis of variance for a completely random design. According to the results obtained, Brahman and Red Brahman calves were grouped into frame score “small” and “medium”, with no individuals belonging to the “large” body size. It can be concluded that the effect of the Brahman breed had favorable influences on the daily weight gain and weight adjusted to 210 days.
