Afetler, kentsel alanlarda mekânsal tahribata ve sosyo-kulturel-ekonomik kayiplara neden olmaktadir. Afetlerin vermis oldugu zararlarin giderilmesi surecinde, yani klasik afet yonetiminde vurgu daha cok afet sonrasi kurtarma iken, gunumuzde afet yonetimi zarar azaltma odakli hale gelmistir. Zarar azaltma odakli yaklasimlar kentlerdeki hasarin onceden alinan tedbirlerle en aza indirilmesi surecinde sakinim planlamasini, riske dayali afet yonetimini gerekli kilmaktadir. Kentsel alanlardaki cevresel risklere karsin hizli kentlesmis Turkiye’de, risk azaltma yaklasimina yani kentsel sakinim planlamasina olan gereksinim gittikce artmaktadir. Koruma alanlarinin planlanma ve uygulama sureclerinin getirmis oldugu kararlarin alan icerisindeki afet zararlarina karsi yetersiz kalmaktadir. Alan icerisinde afete maruz kalma riski varsa, koruma planlarinda ozel planlama kararlarinin getirilmesi gerekli olmaktadir. Bu baglamda, Burdur kentsel sit alani ve yakin cevresinde mevcut durum incelenerek sakinim planlamasi (risk azaltimi) icin incelemeler yapilmistir. Koruma alanlari icerisinde ortaya cikan sorunlarin afet sonrasinda en aza indirilmesi hem can ve mal kaybinin azaltilmasi, hem de tarihi mirasin korunmasi acisindan onemlidir.  Examination and Evaluation of Burdur Urban Site Areas in the Process of Mitigation Planning Abstract Disasters cause spatial damages and socio-cultural-economic losses in urban areas. In the process of eliminating the damage caused by disasters, the emphasis in classical disaster management ehich is ongoing is more post-disaster rescue, but nowadays disaster management has become more focused on damage mitigation. Disaster Reduction-focused approaches require mitigation planning in the process of minimizing damages to the cities by precautionary measures. Despite disaster risk, Turkey had rapid urbanization process  for this reason the need for  mitigation planning, which is part of the risk reduction approach, is increasing steadily. The decisions made by the planning and implementation processes of the protected areas are insufficient against disaster losses in the area. If there is a risk of exposure to plains within the area, it is necessary to make special planning decisions in conservation plans. In this context, past studies was examined with the current situation in the Burdur urban site and its surroundings for conservation planning. It is important to reduce the problems that arise within the protected areas after the disaster, in terms of both loss of life and property as well as preservation of historical heritage.
