Time-Based Dynamic Keying and En Route Filtering (TICK) reduces the communication costs for wireless sensor networks by eliminating the exchange of control keying messages. TICK is more energy-efficient and is good at securing events as they occur; it also selects predetermined forwarding nodes for re-encryption operation without considering their residual energy (RE) which causes more energy depletion.
