Through a comprehensive comparison of the research ideas of college students' ideological and political education under two kinds of new media, this paper makes a comparative study on the path of college students' ideological and political education as well as the path of college students' ideals and beliefs from the perspective of new media, and explores the new media horizon. From the perspective of new media, the path of ideological and political education as well as the path of ideals and beliefs of college students analyze the problems of path dependence, path misplacement and path ambiguity in the work of ideological and political education as well as ideal and belief education, and analyze the causes of these two problems. Finally, under the background of new media, we should use comparative research to deeply grasp the research status of college students' ideological and political education as well as ideal and belief education, and explore the challenges and opportunities faced by college students' ideological and belief education in the context of
