Character reports, as an important type of news, can convey events and attract readers. News reports, as the channel of information transmission, has distinct language features, and character reports also have unique language features. Chinese and English character news reports are different in syntactic structure, vocabulary selection and many other aspects. Reception aesthetics emphasizes the importance of the reader and takes the reader's acceptance of character translation into consideration. This paper mainly takes the Chinese and English character news reports as examples, making a comparative analysis of the characteristics of Chinese and English character news reports from the perspective of reception aesthetics and aesthetic linguistics, which plays an important guiding role in understanding the differences between English and Chinese, and thus proposes the appropriate translation strategies or skills for such reports to make it easier for target
