By selecting the colored silk scroll The Forty Landscape Poems of the Old Summer Palace completed in the 9th year of the Qianlong period (A.D.1744) as the research target, this paper examines the related painters’ working environment, analyzes the master-apprentice relationship among these painters and sorts out historical traces of the transmission of perspective landscape paintings. The author argues the Forty Scenes of the Old Summer Palace is a typical masterpiece "mixed with both Chinese and western elements" by demonstrating the western perspectives applied in the architectural and spatial positioning, while the traditional Chinese painting methods was used in drawing mountains,
