E nvironmental crisis is a problem of modernity in certain phase (stage) of modernization. Risk society theory becomes a new dimensionality for modern society to survey social development on the perspective of modernity. The thesis opens out the practical logic of environment movement through the comparison of two cases in China, which includes the different discourse and action logic of different actors. In the end, the essay reflects China' environmental movement in the scope of risk society theory.
