College students' mathematical modeling competition as an effective way to innovate mathematics education in colleges and universities, has great implications for improving college students' innovation ability and college mathematics education reform. This paper deeply analyzes the characteristics, roles of the national college students' mathematical modeling competition, the current students' ability and teachers' quality, to expound the outstanding problems in current mathematics education of college students.
