Innovation becomes more of a pedagogical creativity to engage students in the teaching and learning process. Geographical concepts such as place and space can be discussed and mediated by geotechnology through innovative practices. Therefore, this work developed with students of Ensino Fundamental II of the Epifânio Dória State School, located in the city of Poço Verde, Sergipe, aims to reflect upon the use of geotechnologies as mediation in innovative teaching practices. The collaborative-participatory approach is part of the method used for the construction of the Poço Verde Atlas, spatial expression of junior researchers. Throughout the research we have developed formative meetings that explored the different ways of expressing space, discussed about the places researched weekly, and traveled to present the works in events. The Poço Verde Atlas which was developed by the junior researchers is composed of texts, photographs and maps. Hence, we consider that this work provided the interlacing between practice and theory, in which the innovations were decisive for the results, as well as the construction of the Atlas was imperative so that the places of the subjects were expressed.
