The dynamic development of the social media generates new threats for company`s 21 reputation. Many of these are due to the increasing use of these media by employees who post 22 their opinion, comments, photos or videos on social media sites. These materials, beyond the 23 control of the company management, can positively or negatively affect its image and 24 reputation. The purpose of this article is to identify the threats to corporate reputation, 25 resulting from employee activity in social media, and to indicate possibilities of reputational 26 risk mitigation induced by this factor. The presented reflections were based on the analysis of 27 the literature and the results of research carried out in this field by selected centers and 28 consulting companies. 29
