This research aimed to study the probable effects that aerobic gymnastics means could have on the body, for improving the functional indices in female adolescents. The man goal of this research was to improve the female adolescents’ fitness through the use of aerobic gymnastics means, to motivate them for a long term independent practice of physical exercises, both during physical education classes, and during their leisure time. The research comprised a number of 40 subjects (20 female adolescents forming the experimental group, and 20 the control group), aged between 18 and 25, and it was conducted at the “Vasile Alecsandri” University of Bacău. The subjects went through a fitness-type aerobic gymnastics program, three times per week. In order to assess the effectiveness of the applied means, the spirometry test was used, performed with the Biopac system.
