The spatio-temporal and lithological distribution of kaolin deposits in the state of Hidalgo are reported, based on an analysis of their occurrence and characteristics. A genetic model of the kaolin is proposed, based on active geothermal systems that supplied sulphidic-acid water, in the context of volcanic calderas.
