Resumen El zopilote rey ( Sarcoramphus papa ) es una especie poco comun o rara en Mexico, y actualmente es considera en peligro de extincion en el pais. El 9 de agosto de 2012, observamos un individuo adulto en un ecosistema perturbado del ejido Jerusalen, municipio Las Margaritas, Chiapas (16˚11’01.5”N, 91˚22’11.9”O). Argumentamos que este sitio de registro se ubica en los limites ambientales de la especie en Chiapas. Palabras clave: Cathartidae, ocurrencia, sureste de Mexico. Record of the King Vulture ( Sarcoramphus papa) in its environmental limits in Chiapas, Mexico. Abstract The King Vulture ( Sarcoramphus papa ) is an uncommon or rare species in Mexico; now considered endangered within the country. On 9 th August 2012 we observed an adult individual in a disturbed ecosystem in the ejido Jerusalen, municipality of Las Margaritas, Chiapas (16˚11’01.5”N, 91˚22’11.9”W).
