Diabetes mellitus is a degenerative disease characterized by blood glucose of ≥ 200 mg/dL. Rambutan is known to reduce blood glucose levels. The purpose of this study was to examine the antihyperglycemic effect of rambutan leaves in glucose-induced male mice. The study was conducted using 25 Swiss Webster male mice which were divided into 5 groups: positive control, metformin dose 65 mg/kg BW, extract dose 10 mg/kg BW, 25 mg/kg BW, and Journal of Medicine and Health Efek Antihiperglikemia Ekstrak Etanol... The extract was given to each group and blood glucose levels was measured at the 30th, 60th, 90th, and 120th minutes. The results showed that blood glucose levels of all test groups: rambutan leaf extract dose 10 mg/kg BW, 25 mg/kg BW, and 50 mg/kg BW were significantly different (P<0,05) compared to the positive control group at the 30th to the 120th-minute observation. Rambutan leaf extract group dose 50 mg/kg BW showed the best effect on reducing blood glucose levels compared to the extract group 25 mg/kg BW and 10 mg/kg BW. In conclusion, rambutan leaf extract has an antihyperglycemic effect on glucose-induced male mice.
