Dyslipidemia increases the risk of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of Bee Pollen on the levels of SGOT, SGPT, and liver histopathological images. This is experimental laboratory research using 30 rats divided into 6 groups. The high-fat diet was given for 28 days, Simvastatin and Bee Pollen were given from day 15 until day 28. SGOT and SGPT levels were examined at day 0, 15, 29 by spectrophotometry (340 nm). The histopathological liver examination was done at day 29. The study found very significant differences between the levels of SGOT and SGPT between three doses of Bee pollen group (18, 36 and 72 mg/body weight/day respectively) compared to the untreated high-fat diet group. There were significant differences in the degree of cloudy swollen cells, portal inflammation, bridging fibrosis, and periportal fibrosis between Bee Pollen 1, 2 groups to the untreated high-fat diet group and very significant differences between simvastatin and Bee Pollen 3 group to the untreated high-fat diet group. As a conclusion, Bee Pollen can reduce SGOT and SGPT levels and improve the histopathological image of the liver on male rats Wistar induced by a high-fat diet.
