陸前高田市小友地区,同広田地区は,いずれも市の東 部に位置し,広田半島の付け根部分(小友地区)と先 端部(広田地区)に位置する(図 1)。いずれの地区も, 農業より養殖を主とした漁業が生業の中心となる地区 である。平成 22 年国勢調査人口は小友地区が 1,911 人, 広田地区が 3,532 人である。 小友地区は地区の中央に 100ha 超と岩手県沿岸地域 でも最大規模の広がりを持つ水田が広がっている。それ に対し,広田地区は小友地区のように農地がまとまって おらず,複数の浦に少ないところで数 ha 単位の農地が 分散立地している。いずれも自給的な生産が中心であり, 専業農家はほとんど存在しない。 漁業においては,両地区ともに多くの漁港が立地し, 太平洋側・広田湾側双方でかきやわかめの養殖が営まれ ている他,定置網や磯でのウニ等の採取も盛んに行われ ている。 3 小友地区の農地再生状況と営農のかたち
