ABSTRAK Telah dilakukan penelitian “Uji Daya Hambat Ekstrak Metanol Daun Jati Belanda ( Guazuma ulmifolia , Lamk) Terhadap Pertumbuhan Eschericia coli ”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh data mikrobiologis tentang daya hambat ekstrak metanol daun Jati Belanda terhadap pertumbuhan Eschericia coli penyebab diare. Daun Jati Belanda diekstraksi dengan cara maserasi dalam pelarut metanol selama 5 hari. Ekstrak daun Jati Belanda yang diperoleh kemudian disuspensikan ke dalam larutan Na CMC 1% sehingga diperoleh konsentrasi 5% b/v, 10% b/v, dan 20% b/v sedangkan larutan Na CMC 1% sebagai kontrol, kemudian dilakukan uji daya hambat pertumbuhan Eschericia coli dengan metode difusi dengan menggunakan medium Nutrient Agar (NA) dan pencadang, kemudian diinkubasi pada suhu 37o C selama 1 x 24 jam. Hasil yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik RAL menunjukkan ada perbedaan efek yang nyata pada taraf signifikan α = 0,05. Pengujian lanjutan dengan uji rentang Newman Keuls menunjukkan ada perbedaan nyata antara pemberian ekstrak metanol daun Jati Belanda 5%, 10%, dan 20% dengan kontrol, juga konsentrasi 5% dengan 20% sedang pada konsentrasi ekstrak metanol daun Jati Belanda 5% dengan 10% dan konsentrasi 10% dengan 20% memperlihatkan hasil yang tidak berbeda nyata. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini maka disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak metanol daun Jati Belanda memiliki daya hambat yang signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan Eschericia coli . Diameter zona hambatan rata-rata yang dihasilkan oleh ekstrak metanol daun Jati Belanda ( Guazuma ulmifolia , Lamk) dengan konsentrasi 20% adalah 12,67 mm, untuk konsentrasi 10% adalah 11 mm dan untuk konsentrasi 5% adalah 9,67 mm. ABSTRACT A research on “Inhibition Assay of  extract methanol of Cedar Leaves to The Growth of Eschericia coli ” has been done. The purpose of this research is to obtain microbiological data of bioactivity in Cedar leaves. The cedar leaves are extracted by maceration in methanol for five days. The methanol cedar leaves extract then is suspended into  1% Na CMC Solution.The inhibition assay to the growth of Eschericia coli using diffusion method, consist of three variation concentrates of extract methanol of Cedar leaves, those are 5% w/v, 10% w/v, and 20% w/v in 1% Na CMC solution. Solution of Na CMC 1% without extract methanol of Cedar leaves as control negative Eschericia coli growth at medium Nutrient Agar (NA) and then incubated at 37° C within 24 hours. The result of this research showed that the extract methanol of Cedar leaves have inhibited the growth of Eschericia coli by incubated within 24 hours with diameter inhibition zone of 20% extract was 12,67 mm, 10% extract was 11 mm, and 5% was 9,67 mm. By the statistic analysis of Completed Randomed Design (CRD) method followed by Newman Keuls range test showed that between concentrate 5% and control, 10% and control, 20% and control also between 5% and 20% have showed the real difference but between concentrate 5% and 10%, also between concentrate 10% and 20% was not showing the real difference. The conclusion of the result is the methanol extract of Cedar leaves could inhibit the growth of Eschericia coli . Keyword : methanol Extract of Cedar leaves, inhibition assay, Eschericia coli,.
