Este trabalho teve como objetivo obter uma expressao para o calculo da evapotranspiracao de referencia ( ET o ) usando a tecnica de analise dimensional. Foram selecionadas oito localidades, sendo duas em cada mesorregiao do estado da Paraiba: Sertao Paraibano, Borborema, Agreste Paraibano e Mata Paraibana. A serie de dados utilizada nesta pesquisa correspondeu ao periodo de 01 de janeiro a 31 de dezembro de 2013 da evapotranspiracao de referencia (mm/dia), saldo de radiacao (MJ m -2 dia -1 ), umidade relativa do ar (%), temperaturas maxima e minima (°C) foram extraidos de arquivos em pontos de grade para o Brasil, (Xavier et al. 2016). Os resultados indicam que a tecnica de analise dimensional e eficiente na determinacao da ET o . O melhor ajuste verificado, para todas as localidades em estudo, foi o logaritmico. Os resultados apresentam correlacoes estatisticamente significativas ao nivel de 99% (a=0,01) em todas as localidades analisadas. A B S T R A C T The objective of this work is to obtain expression for the calculation of reference evapotranspiration ( ET o ) using the dimensional analysis technique. Eight localities were selected, two in each mesoregion of Paraiba state: Sertao Paraibano, Borborema, Agreste Paraibano and Mata Paraibana. The data series used in this research corresponded to the period from January 1 to December 31, 2013, of reference evapotranspiration (mm/day), radiation balance (MJ m -2 day -1 ), relative humidity, maximum and minimum temperatures (°C) were extracted from files at grid points for Brazil (Xavier et al., 2016). The results indicate that the dimensional analysis technique is efficient in the determination of ET o . The best fit for all the study sites was logarithmic.
