This study corresponds to cartographic representation of flood hazard delineation of the alluvial plain in Ivai River considering the last 150 km of its lower course until the confluence with Paraná River. The information is based on cartographic survey, satellite images, SRTM, field research and interviews with residents in flood-prone areas. The methodology it is known as “Hydrogeomorphologic Method”. The information was grouped in a database on SPRING software, having as a result the Map of Flood-prone Areas. The results show a Floodplain not very active, with fast answers and high control of great intensity rainfall precipitation without a pattern of flood and ebb. The flood hazard areas occupy less than 40% of the alluvial plain, even in flood events of greater magnitude. The minimal recorrence of floods is 1,31 years, however the hit areas represent only 1% of alluvial plain. There are few environments of riverplain integration, reflex of few active areas in the flood periods, and due to strong impact of economic activities, mainly the rice growing and livestock. The information obtained from this study represents greater possibilities on planning and management of floodplain, aiming the reducing of environment impacts, and the riscks associated to flood, besides better understanding of the dynamics and characteristics of flood areas.
