We give an overview of the Adaptive Optics (AO) and Multi-conjugate Adaptive Optics (MCAO) system of the planned 4 m European Solar Telescope (EST). The two possible configurations of the wavefront sensors are explained. The effect of pupil segmentation due to the telescope spiders is discussed.
