As a result of the intervention of the Regional University of Blumenau for more than fifteen (15) years of a group of researchers, professors and academics of the Law Course at the local prison, the need arose to visibilize the incarcerated subject with the purpose of verifying that the selectivity of Brazilian punitive control is reproduced in the city of Blumenau. Using the ethnographic method, surveys were conducted during the years 2014 and 2015 that allowed the conclusion that the logic of local criminal control, following the dominant paradigm, is an efficient instrument of absolute exclusion and extinction of citizenship.
