O presente artigo teve como objetivo a análise das implicações bioéticas que permeiam a recusa terapêutica manifestada pela pessoa gestante e regulamentada pela Resolução Conselho Federal de Medicina (CFM) n.º 2.232/2019. Para isso, buscou-se compreender a relação médico-paciente e os princípios bioéticos da autonomia, beneficência, não maleficência e justiça. Além disso, foram desenvolvidos apontamentos em relação ao paternalismo médico. Quanto à metodologia empregada, utilizou-se o método dedutivo, com abordagem descritiva-analítica e técnicas de pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, com o intuito de explicitar como a Bioética principialista relaciona-se com o exercício da atividade realizada por profissionais de saúde, especialmente pelo médico.
