This article deals with feminicide from the perspective of human rights, taking as reference Press Release 24, published by the IACHR in Washington DC. The analysis of the phenomenon considers data from the Atlas of Violence 2018, published by the IPEA and the Brazilian Forum of Public Security, and the data presented by IACHR when referring to cases of femicide in Brazil. The article discusses texts that have worked on the theme of violence against women, recognizes advances in public policies to combat this violence, but points to the need to expand actions to reduce the murders of women in Brazil.
