This article aims to analyze the overall situation of the Jewish populace and their remarkable influence on the socio - cultural life in Spanish America, in particular, the Hispanic American territory. Thus, the reader is offered a historical overview of the cultural achievements of Jewish immigrants in Spanish America, focusing primarily on the aspect of Jewish epistemology. The target article will proceed as follows: 1) a historical approach of the Spaniards and Sephardic Jews in Spain, 2) the colonization of the converted Jews in Spanish America and 3) cultural change in identity, disassociation, inclusion and exclusion of Jewish converts in the Spanish society of South America.
