A mononuclear copper(II) complex of 1-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)-N-(tetrahydrofuran-2ylmethyl)methanamine) was synthesized and characterized by various physicochemical techniques like cyclic voltammetry and elemental analysis, ESI-MS, UV–Visible, Infra red and EPR spectroscopy. The antibacterial activities of the ligand and its complex were screened by disc diffusion method and found that the metal complexes have higher antimicrobial activity than the free ligand.
