Regarding the current rhythm of life, in times of globalization, the slow food movement is a landmark in the struggle for the maintenance and recovery of the culinary traditions of different cultures and societies. This project shows the human relationship with food, in which pleasure is the most important figure. However, flavour and nutritional value are closely attached to a healthy meal. Therefore, Nutritional, as well as, Gastronomy Sciences should work in the same direction. This project focuses on the analysis of the slow food movement as a critic to the rhythm of live that fast food restaurants represent. By recovering the ritual of meals, the movement seeks to change the present eating habits in favour of a slower rhythm of life, encouraging conviviality over convenience.
