Studies on the blood vesseles of the limbs of primates have been conducted from long ago. Although their works were not done on a large sample of the same species, comparatively detailed results have been published by Bayer (1933), Bluntschli (1906), Mailer (1905), Manners-Smith (1911), Lineback (1933), Gappert (1908) et al. Needless to say, in discussing the most common condition of any animal, the so-called normal condition, it is extremely difficult to make an accurate determination unless observations are carried out on a large sample. This is particularly true in the case of blood vessels which are so variable. The present study was conducted as a part of the " Anatomical Research on Macacus Cyclopsis " being done in this department for the determination of the normal condition of this animal. The observations were carried out on a large sample to avoid errors due to individual variations. In other words, as a part of the study to establish the standard condition of the vascular system in macacus cyclopsis, the author has reviewed the origin and branches of the arteria brachialis as well as the relation to nerves in a comparatively large sample and, at the same time, attempted the comparison with other primates and also with man.
