The first meeting for young chemistry faculty members was organized on November 28th, 2008 at the University of Bern and brought together over twenty different researchers from all Swiss universities. The symposium was sponsored by the Plat-form Chemistry of the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT) and coordinated by Barbara Winter-Werner (Chief Science Of-ficer, Platform Chemistry SCNAT), Karl Gademann (Ecole poly-technique federale de Lausanne, EPFL) and Michele Cascella (University of Bern) in order to promote both scientific exchange and networking for young academics in chemistry.
