Objective of this study is to develop an optical properties measurement system and to estimate performance of the system. A double integrating sphere setup and an inverse Monte Carlo technique are combined to determine the optical properties of biological tissues. Our optical properties measurement system is confirmed by simulations and experiments with a turbid material which is composed of hemoglobin and aqueous suspensions of lipid droplets or polystyrene latex particle suspension. The system offers desired level of accuracy. These results are considered to be evidence that the system is able to measure the tissue optical properties.
