O ser humano esta situado no mundo e dispoe de inteligencia e capacidade de refletir sobre ele com o objetivo de transforma-lo por meio do trabalho e acoes politicas. A participacao do homem como sujeito na sociedade, na cultura e na historia se faz a medida que educado para conscientizar-se, assume suas responsabilidades como cidadao. Assim, o homem e o elemento e o sujeito da educacao, que e sempre uma acao politica transformadora. A educacao ambiental e definida no Tratado de Educacao Ambiental para a Sociedade Sustentaveis, como um processo dinâmico em permanente construcao, que e orientado por valores que promovem a transformacao social. Esta proposta educacional encontra equivalencia na constituicao e nas praticas da cultura afro-brasileira, mais especificamente o Candomble. Os orixas sao “forcas inteligentes da natureza” e “entidades espirituais regentes”. Enquanto forcas inteligentes da natureza vinculam-se ao cosmos, identificando-se com os elementos e manifestacoes naturais. Enquanto entidades espirituais regentes vinculam-se as pessoas, funcionando como arquetipos da personalidade humana. Seres complexos, os orixas permitem multiplas classificacoes, conforme a genealogia, as caracteristicas e a metodologia ritualistica. Sua identificacao maior, porem, esta no vinculo de cada qual com os elementos da Natureza. Relacionados esses conhecimentos, com entrevistas feitas com lideres religiosas do Candomble, tornou-se possivel discutir a relacao entre o Candomble e a educacao ambiental. O trabalho foi desenvolvido de acordo com a pesquisa etnografica e teve como objetivo analisar as contribuicoes da cultura religiosa do Candomble na cidade de Belem – PA para a formacao de um modelo de consciencia ambiental, que entende a importância do meio natural, para os seus adeptos e para todos. Abstract The human being is in the world and has the intelligence and ability to reflect on himself in order to transform him through work and political action. The participation of man as a subject in society, culture and history is made as educated to become aware assumed his responsibilities as citizen. Thus man is the element and the subject of education, which is always a transformative political action. Environmental education is defined in the Treaty of Environmental Education for Sustainable Society, as a dynamic process in permanent construction, which is guided by values that promote social transformation. This educational proposal is equivalence in the constitution and practices of the African-Brazilian culture, specifically the Candomble. The deities are "intelligent forces of nature" and "ruling spiritual entities". While intelligent forces of nature are linked to the cosmos, identifying with the elements and natural manifestations. While regents spiritual entities are linked to people, working as archetypes of human personality. Complex beings, deities allow multiple classifications, according to genealogy, features and ritualistic methodology. His greatest identification, however, is the link of each with the elements of nature. Relating this knowledge to interviews with religious leaders of Candomble, made it possible to discuss the relationship between Candomble and environmental education. The study was conducted according to ethnographic research and aimed to analyze the contributions of the religious culture of Candomble in Belem - PA to the formation of a model of environmental awareness, which takes into consideration the importance of the natural environment for its adepts and for all.
