espanolLa evolucion del turismo en la actualidad, entendido como actividad economica y practica social cargada de sentido politico y de valor cultural, presenta una extraordinaria variedad de situaciones que obligan a repensar las relaciones tradicionales entre atractivos, paisaje y consumo visual. Conviene recuperar entonces perspectivas que plantean al paisaje como una construccion ideologica e historica ligada al surgimiento de la modernidad y del capitalismo. Y luego relacionarlas con analisis criticos del turismo en tanto estrategia de produccion de valor y herramienta de intervencion estatal. En este trabajo, de indole ensayistica, se resenan distintas posiciones principalmente dentro del debate geografico, con el objetivo de analizar las relaciones entre el paisaje y el turismo, apelando a ejemplos argentinos y latinoamericanos. Finalmente se propone, como hipotesis de investigacion, acudir a la idea de fetiche para comprender los fenomenos actuales de produccion y consumo de paisajes turisticos, que trascienden el concepto tradicional de atractivo. EnglishThe evolution of contemporary tourism, understood as an economic activity and social practice with political sense and cultural value, presents an extraordinary variety of situations that force us to reevaluate the traditional relationships between attractions, landscape and visual consumption. It is necessary to recover perspectives that focus on landscape as an ideological and historical construct linked to the emergence of modernity and capitalism. And then relate them to critical analyses of tourism as a value strategy and a state intervention tool. In this essay, different positions are reviewed mostly from the geographical stance with the objective of analysing the relations between landscape and tourism, presenting Argentinian and Latin American examples. Finally, as a research hypothesis, it is proposed that recourse is made to the idea of fetish to understand the current phenomena of production and consumption of tourism landscapes, going beyond the traditional concept of attraction.

El paisaje, del atractivo al fetiche. Un ensayo sobre consumo visual y turismo
