Aspectos anatómicos de Pulvínulo y nervio principal foliar de cinco especies del género Canavalia de Colombia, Dioclea Guianensis y Mucuna Pruriens

A study was conducted on the anatomy of the pulvinus and primary leaf nerve of Canavalia bicarinata, C. brasiliensis, C. dictyota, C. ensiformis, C. rosea, Dioclea guianensis, and Mucuna pruriens (Fabaceae, Faboideae). The different species of the genus Canavalia were compared and these were compared to the genus Dioclea from the same subtribe; and Mucuna from the Erythrininae subtribe from plants obtained from seeds from the Germplasm Bank at the International Center of Tropical Agriculture (CIAT for its name in Spanish) in adult reproductive stage, sown under the conditions of the Biology Microstation, Universidad del Valle, Municipality of Cali, Valle del Cauca, Colombia, close to 1,050 m. The laboratory techniques comprised freehand histological cross sections, safranin and fast green staining with the semi-conservative method and compound microscope observations. Observations and comparisons were carried out on the form and composition of the external contour, and the shape of the cell and its distribution in tissues in epidermis, cortex, central cylinder and medulla; also included are the presence or absence, abundance, form of trichomes, pigments, or other substances like tannins, stylodia, and oils. The distance of the main nerve, from borders of the lamina was analyzed.
