トドマツ精英樹14クローン42個体を用いて曲げヤング率MOE曲げ強さMORおよび気乾密度を調査した。それぞれの形質の調査は樹心部髄から17年輪までと辺縁部18年輪以降に分けて行った。またそのうちの7クローン21個体を用いて晩材仮道管S2層のミクロフィブリル傾角MFAの半径方向の変動を調査した。気乾密度とMOEおよびMORはそれぞれ有意な相関関係を示した。MFAの半径方向の変動パターンは特に髄周辺の年輪部位においてクローン間で異なっていた。MFA気乾密度MOEの関係からMOEの変動に対するMFAの影響は小さく気乾密度の影響が大きいと考えられた。気乾密度MOEMORの樹心部と辺縁部の間には有意な相関関係にあり比較的早期にこれらを評価できると考えられた。
