As seen in the figure, the components of the printing system are the tank where the liquid ink is held, the engraving roller as a printing plate, the blade that is used to scrape the surplus ink, and the impression cylinder that enables the substrate material to take the ink from engraving roller. The primary function of the impression cylinder is to ensure that the substrate material is in adequate contact with the ink in the cells, ensuring the correct ink transfer from the engraving cylinder.
