Lake Buyan is an aquatic natural resource that has a very important value. Utilization of the Lake Buyan include floating net cage aquaculture activities which could potentially provide nutrient input conditions can affect the quality of the water will then affect phytoplankton. The purpose of this study was to determine the phytoplankton community structure and water quality in the area of floating cages Lake Buyan, District Sukasada, Bali Province. The research was conducted from January to March 2016 in the area of floating cages Lake Buyan, District Sukasada, Buleleng, Bali Province. This study uses a sampling sistematic. The location of observation stations totaled 8 stations, stations 1-7 located close to the floating net cage aquaculture area, while one control station is located far from the area of floating net cages. Activity sampling is done three times at intervals of 3 weeks. The results showed a 9 JURNAL METAMORFOSA V (2): 151-158 (2018) ISSN: 2302-5697 152 genus of phytoplankton which consists of 24 species. The result of the abundance of phytoplankton average is 1454 cells/l so that in the category of waters oligotropik, 07,647 to 1.8352 diversity index, uniformity index average of 3937. The average index value of 0.4225 dominance. Water quality parameter values obtained, among others, the value of the temperature by 23,54-24,94C, 66,41-251,06 Brightness value, 2.10, 6.39 NTU turbidity, pH value 7,568.93, value of dissolved oxygen (DO) 4.10 5.44 mg / l, nitrate value in the amount of from 0.39 to 0.99 mg / l and phosphate values 0.13 to 0.45 mg / l. Overall dissolved oxygen (DO) was a little bit low support phytoplankton life.
