Eluso intensivo de tecnologias nuevas, el riesgo que implica y las oportunidades de negocio que se generan, ha dado lugar a lo que se le denomina Empresas de Base Tecnologica (EBT), mismas que han sido objeto de estudio por sus niveles de produccion de valor agregado. Actualmente no se cuenta con una clara definicion de un sector de base tecnologica, razon por la cual este trabajo propone su descripcion, realizando un comparativo de la produccion y generacion de valor agregado a nivel Sinaloa con respecto al comportamiento nacional. Para ello se recurre a una metodologia cuantitativa, utilizando informacion estadistica de las bases de datos del Sistema de Clasificacion Industrial de America del Norte, contenidas en los Censos Economicos 2004 y 2009. Abstract The intense use of new technology, the risk that this imply and the business opportunity generated by this technology, has given place to the concept of Technology Based Firm (TBF), which has been a research object due to its generation of added value. Nowdays there isn’t a clear definition of a technology based sector, therefore this research proposes its own description, making a comparison of the production and added value of Sinaloa against the national level. It is used a quantitative methodology using statistical information from the databases of the North America Industrial Classification System contained in the Economic Census 2004 and 2009.
