CTによる縦隔リンパ節の部位命名に関する一致率は, 境界が不明瞭なリンパ節部位や複数の部位の基準を満たすリンパ節の存在のために, 必ずしも良好ではないことが知られている. 本研究は, 縦隔リンパ節の部位命名のために新たに作成されたCT診断基準の有用性を検討するために行った. 20名の医師に202部位の縦隔リンパ節のCT像を4ヵ月間の間隔をおいて2度読影させた.1回目の読影では, 現在の肺癌取扱い規約に従って命名させた. 2回目の読影では新しいCT基準に従って命名させたが, この基準では部位間の境界に関する取り決めや命名に関する優先順位が規定されている. CTによる部位命名の一致率 (mean±SD) は, 1回目は73.8±17.0%で, 2回目は82.8±16.8%となり, 両者の間に有意差を認めた (p=0.0001). 新しい縦隔リンパ節のCT基準は, 読影者間でのリ ンパ節部位命名の一致性を向上させるのに有用と考えられた.
