Vědecká excelence a její přenos do aplikační sféry Jedním z významných faktorů konkurenceschopnosti a rozvoje ekonomiky je kvalita základního výzkumu. Je však spíše faktorem vstupním, resp. jedním z těchto faktorů. Její hodnocení je třeba doplnit o hodnocení aplikačního potenciálu a využití výsledků výzkumu a vývoje do praktických, komerčních aplikací. A právě na tento potenciál je zaměřen článek - hodnotí vazby, potenciální i skutečné, mezi silnými českými výzkumnými obory, výzkumnými pracovišti a samotnými výzkumníky a aplikační sférou. Hodnocení je provedeno prostřednictvím rozsáhlého terénního šetření, zahrnujícího celkem 76 strukturovaných rozhovorů s vybranými excelentními výzkumníky. Výsledky ukazují na poměrně dobrý potenciál, kdy naprostá většina výzkumníků má zájem nejen o teoretický výzkum, ale taktéž o praktické uplatnění svých výsledků. Skutečná spolupráce s aplikační sférou je však výrazně nižší. Konkrétní jednotlivé bariéry, které jsou důvodem tohoto rozdílu, nelze jednoznačně určit, spíše je lze spatřovat v jejich vzájemném působení ve fungování inovačního systému, samotných výzkumných organizací i v motivaci výzkumníků. Science excellence and its transfer to the application sphere Research quality and excellence, analysed in the previous paper, is indisputably important part of competitiveness and economic growth. However, it is only one, rather input factor. To get a full picture, research excellence analysis needs to be complemented with an analysis how the excellence research results are used and applied in practical and commercial applications. Hence, this paper aims to assess this application potential - both potential and existing linkages between strong Czech research fields, workplaces and researchers and the application sphere. The analysis is based on extensive field survey consisting of 76 semi-structured interviews with researchers. The results show relatively good potential when the majority of researchers is interested not only in the theoretical research, but also in potential application of their results, though they might not participate in this process directly. On the other hand, the realized collaboration between the researchers and the application sphere is limited. One concrete barrier cannot be identified when explaining such a contrast, rather several mutually interlinked barriers at the level of the innovation system and the research organizations and in the motivation of the researchers themselves were identified.
